LCC’s environmental center hosts trail cleanup this Saturday
LAREDO, TX.- There are sunny, clear skies in the forecast for the weekend, and what better way is there to celebrate the warmth than by spending the morning out in nature during Laredo Community College’s Lamar Bruni Vergara Environmental Science Center’s Saturday trail clean-up for the Paso del Indio Nature Trail this Saturday, Feb. 1.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., and cleanup on the trail will run from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Community services hours are available for students who need to earn them.
Visitors are always welcome to tour the center and visit with some of the local residents- including the American alligators, bobcats, raccoon, armadillo, skunk, turtles and many others.
The center will be open for self-guided tours from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Admission is $4 for adults and $2 for students and senior citizens. The center is free and open to LCC and TAMIU students, faculty, and staff with a valid college ID card.
