Collection of Crossings into Mexico reports an increase

LAREDO, Tx.- After having 'red' figures in July, the net collection of crossings between vehicles and pedestrians into Mexico during the month of August recorded an increase of 7.1%.

The Bridge System monthly report by Mario Maldonado stated that the net collection in August was $3,705,904, the third best in this fiscal year.

In August 2009, the net collection was $3,459,687, a difference of $246,217 for this year.

In the 11 months of the 2009-2010 fiscal year that finishes on Septembert 30th, a total of $39,224,078 have been collected on the bridges to cross into Mexico, while last year there was $37,336,945 collected for a difference of 5.1%.

In the fiscal year there was also an increase of 12.7% in commercial units, with 1,438,368 while last year there were only 1,276,298.

Finally, the pedestrian crossing reported a decrease of 16.5% in August with 285,952 pedestrians crossing into Mexico, while 342,526 persons crossed last August 2009.
