Fines will be Issued to those Dumping Trash

LAREDO, Tx.- The municipal authorities began to issue fines of up to 500 dollars for those leaving trash, rubbish, especially tires, outside the recycling center of McPherson and Clark.

The managers of the center have serious problems in this place because every day they find old tires, paint cans and other objects that are left on the sidewalk overnight.

Municipal officials have managed to identify some of these offenders thanks to anonymous calls from people who were able to catch license plate numbers of those vehicles leaving trash.

The license plate numbers are passed to the police and upon investigating them the subjects are located and then they will receive fines up to $ 500 for violating rules of cleanliness in the city.

The chief police was asked to strengthen the night shift security on the 2200 block of McPherson, where this recycling center is located.

This place was opened to promote recycling of certain products and so the community can avoid a trip to the municipal dump, however, people are misusing it.

The center accepts cardboard boxes, plastic articles and paper, also aluminum. It is prohibited to take car batteries, oils, paints and solvents as well as tires.

The center works from Wednesday to Friday, at 12 pm to 6 pm and on Saturdays at 10 am to 6 pm.
