Carlos Morton Offers Insight On Chicano Theater At LCC

LAREDO, TEXAS – Author and playwright Carlos Morton enlightened Laredo Community College students with the origin and stages of Chicano theater before the start of the socio-cultural movement of the 1960s during a special talk on Wednesday, March 18 at the Kazen Student Center. The former Laredo Junior College instructor discussed the struggles Latinos and Latinas, not just Mexican-Americans, faced within and outside their cultural sphere. The presentation was hosted by the Office of Student Life and the Quality Enhancement Plan at LCC.
